I've been using Awkar for 7 years now and Pat has been very helpful. He's gone out of his way to help me many times and I don't think you'll find a more honest mechanic. He's genuinely a nice guy who does great work. Recently I moved from Chester County to Montgomery County but I still bring my car to Awkar because of the trust & confidence I have in Pat.
I called on Jan 3 to make an appointment to get my car inspected. So it was today, Jan 13 at 10:00. They are open 8-5 Mondays. I got there at 9:55 and the place was locked and completely dark. No one there. No sign on the door. I called and there was no answer. Went into the HVAC supply shop next door and asked, and they had not seen anyone there today and they said the shop was closed all last week too, they were not sure why. This was truly inconvenient for me but I found another shop to inspect my car today. I do hope all is well with this shop's owner. It was just a little disconcerting.
I had tires delivered to Awkar, and installed at Awkar. From calling to schedule, through the work getting done, everything was great at Awkar. The waiting area was comfortable, and my discussions with the owner gave me a comfort level because I could tell that the owner has attention to detail. I think this is my new favorite independent auto service shop, and I will definitely be back when I need tires and other services on my vehicles.

I used Patrick's services numerous times over many years. He is the most honest shop in all of the West Chester - Downingtown area. If he sees a problem he'll let you know and show it to you, even making easy fixes and adjustments at no charge.He does not go looking for other things to do while he has your car in hand like a dealer does, and his prices are great. You can bring a car to him and be confident he'll fix it properly with quality parts and at a better price than most places in the area. All those 5 star reviews are an accurate presentation of what you'll get from him.
Very bad experience. Got my Minivan brakes replaced twice in a matter of 9 months. Of course, was charged both times when they refer to the parts as premium rotor & pads with no warranty whatsoever. Within 5 months of my first visit, I made another visit as the braking caused squeaky noise and jerky motion, which was dismissed as they couldn't recreate it. In the next visit they changed the front rotors, and we were blamed for our driving habits which caused all of these issues. None of this solved the actual issue till I decided to go to Del Toyota where they diagnosed this to be the cheap aftermarket parts. I waited a yearlong after Del Toyota addressed the issue to post this. Just wanted to tell these guys that it's not driving habits, it's your cheap parts in play.
Friendly, doesn't overcharge. Will give recommendations so I save money.
I recently purchased tires from an online seller and asked a friend who is a bit of an enthusiast if he recommended anyone local as an installer. He immediately recommended Patrick at Awkar.I'm very glad he did.Patrick installed my tires flawlessly, the gloss black painted rims are still pristine. He performed an alignment and was able to correct a camber issue that had caused wear problems on my front tires. He also replaced my brake fluid as I requested.All this was done quickly and for a very reasonable price. He called me to describe the camber issue and to recommend several solutions at varying levels of complexity and cost, allowing me to make an informed decision.I will be sure to give Awkar more of my business in the future. Its really refreshing to find an honest, knowledgeable, independent mechanic and escape the dealer service department.
The owner Pat is an honest, excellent, hardworking, reliable mechanic and man. Awkar has always gone above and beyond in customer service. Over 20 years all work was 5 star!!!! I have brought atleast 3 vechiles for repair induding my VW Rialta. I traveled 8 hrs for my appointment because I know I can trust that it was done right at Awkar!

Patrick has been working on my car during 2022 and he’s done a great job. He’s helped me out with an oil leak, new axels, flat tire, fixing a broken door handle, battery replacement… my car is getting old but he’s kept it running while I figure out buying a new car. He seems like he cares about the quality of work he does.

Decided to give them a try based on all of the positive reviews I saw - Absolutely outstanding!! The other reviews are spot on. Pat's wife was super-accomodating to my schedule, got me right in at 8AM, and by 11AM was calling to tell me the job was done, not that I needed 100 other things like most repair shops do! Cannot recommend them enough. They have our business hands down, and I will try to send others there as well.
I needed to make a last minute tire swap in the middle of the day yesterday and Awkar was able to fit me into their schedule. Service was prompt, friendly and reasonably priced. I love the fact that this is a husband-and-wife owned family business, I'll always support family-owned local businesses when I have the chance. I moved here a little over a year ago and I'll definitely be using Awkar as my go-to auto repair service going forward.
Patrick installed my Winter tires for me this year. He was super friendly, completed the job quickly and for a good price. His waiting area was clean, with good coffee, free WIFI and TV. Will definitely come back the next time I need service on one of my cars.
